Sony is just gearing up to launch its most ambitious smartphone – the Xperia Z1 aka Honami – at IFA, but now a photo has been leaked via the RuliWeb suggesting that a mini version of the device is also coming. The report states that this particular phone will be called the Xperia Z1 mini.
In terms of the form factor, the phone is reportedly 109.24mm tall and 57.88mm wide, so this will probably boast a 4.3-inch display. On XDA Developers forum, reports suggest that it will be powered a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU, but it has been suggested that this might not be true. That said, the main commonality between the Xperia Z1 and the Z1 mini will be the 20.7-megapixel camera sensor with 1/2.3 F 2.0 SONY G lens.
Considering Sony has reserved the Snapdragon 800 CPU for its flagship devices like Xperia ZU and the Xperia Z1, we can imagine a situation where the Z1 mini could get a lesser Snapdragon S4 Pro or Snapdragon 600 CPU. Other specs listed out for the Xperia Z1 mini include a 4.3-inch HD display, 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.
