Sony’s Xperia Z2 aka Sirius smartphone has been spotted yet again in a new set of leaked photos in which it is compared against its predecessor – the Xperia Z1. The Xperia Blog has posted photos with both the new and current models kept side-by-side against each other to highlight the differences between them. Another set of photos show off the Xperia Z2’s UI screenshots, which show some tweaks in Sony’s current UI as well as the Android 4.4.2 KitKat on the device. These photos confirm earlier reports, which suggested that the Xperia Z2 has been made on the Xperia Z1 like design and structure but with a slightly bigger display at 5.2-inches than the Xperia Z1 which has a 5-inch display. As seen in the photos, the Xperia Z2 will essentially be an upgraded variant of the Xperia Z1, and will come with a bigger display, an upgraded software version and better processor. The phone in the photos runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, confirming earlier rumors. The UI screenshots show 4K recording, Timeshift video, controls like Smart backlight control, two home launchers, and USB DAC support.
The phone is also expected to come with Qualcomm s MSM8974AB SoC, 3GB RAM, 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony s G Lens, and a 3,500mAh battery. Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z2 at MWC next month.
