The Sony Xperia ZR follows the rugged design of the Xperia Z, but is rather a lower-end version of the latter and thus varies in several features. It has a 4.55-inch HD display with 720p resolution and 319 pixels per inch density, and offers Sony s Bravia Engine 2 for an enhanced viewing experience. The phone runs on the Android version 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Adreno 320 GPU, accompanied by 2GB of RAM. There also is 8GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot.
The highlight of the phone is that it is capable of shooting full HD videos underwater as well. The back features a 13-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED Flash and Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and a 0.3-megapixel camera on front. The phone measures 10.4mm thick and weighs close to 140 grams.
On the connectivity front, there is support for 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, and more. It sports a 2,300mAh battery that offers up to 13 hours of talk time and 520 hours on standby mode.
