After the likes of the FES and Wena watches, Sony has launched yet another product on its First Flight crowdfunding platform. This new product is an universal remote control with an e-ink display, called the Huis (pronounced ‘House’), the Verge reports. It goes on sale in Japan next month, for a princely sum of 27,950 (Rs 16,700 approximately), but Sony hasn’t revealed any plans of a global launch. While an universal remote is not exactly what you would call revolutionary, Sony seems to have developed a beautiful product. The white remote control with its e-ink display looks minimalistic and quite modern at the same time. With e-ink displays very light on resources, you will be able to use the remote for a long time before needing to charge it again. Also Read - Samsung and LG confirm presence at in-person CES 2022
Sony says that you can control a range of devices via the remote control, ranging from the likes of your television, Blu-Ray players, lights to air conditioners. One can tweak the interface from the remote itself, or can alternatively do it from the app. One can also download and share controller setups online.
Barring the high price tag, the Huis seems to be a well built universal remote control, which is tempting to say the least. If only Sony decides to launch it outside its home country.
