Soon there will be a smartphone called the ‘Smart Namo’, an Android smartphone launched in the name of Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, WSJ reports. According to the report, members of the Smart Namo group formed by Modi fans have announced that they will soon introduce the new smartphone and follow it up by launching a series of mobile phones dedicated to the minister. In terms of features, the Smart Namo will have a 5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 2 display. It will run on Android and will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Mediatek chipset. The phone will support dual-SIM functionality, sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and will be available in four variants, with different storage and RAM options. The report also says that the standard version of the device will be accompanied with the “Shri Narendra Modi signature edition” handset. Moreover, the group also plans to launch cheaper versions of the device including a feature phone for Rs 1,000 in future.
There’s currently no specific time line decided for the launch of the phone.
