Spotify has announced that it is partnering with electronic dance music (EDM) streaming service Beatport. According to the Verge, the two companies partnered to bring its users curated playlists and exclusive videos and tracks. Beatport began as an online download store aimed at dance music fans and has since expanded to streaming and video. In 2013, Beatport was acquired by SFX, the live music company behind big EDM festivals like Electric Zoo. Spotify will have access to Beatport’s exclusive DJ mixes and videos of live events. Greg Consiglio, Beatport’s CEO said that their service is heavily curated by people in their company who have label relationships and artist relationships.
