Google CEO Sundar Pichai is in India where he addressed the media, developers and startups yesterday. After meeting key ministers in the government, Pichai will be taking part in a fireside chat Q&A session at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) followed by banquet hosted by President Mukherjee in the evening. Pichai made a few announcements at the event when he interacted with the media yesterday. He mentioned that around 100 Indian railway stations will be Wi-Fi enabled by December 2016 and Mumbai Central (station) to go live by January. Pichai also mentioned that Google will be opening a new campus in Hyderabad. The search engine giant will also be ramping up its engineering investments at its Hyderabad and Bangalore facilities.
“We had invited Google CEO for an interactive session at SRCC and we have got a confirmation from Google about the same. Pichai will be addressing and interacting with students on December 17 during the session ‘Ask Sundar’,” a senior college official told PTI. The Q&A session with Sundar Pichai will be one hour long and will kick off at 1PM today.
