Suzuki Swift has been one of the most sought after hatchback around the world owing to its fun to driving characteristics and easy ownership. But the Sport avatar, which is set to debut officially at the Frankfurt motor show, has left a lot of enthusiasts drooling. Suzuki Swift Sport has striking visual features, and gets HID headlamps, electrically adjustable mirrors, sports body kit for better aerodynamics, and dual exhausts. Inside the cabin, Suzuki has fitted a new touchscreen infotainment system, which offers features like satellite navigation, voice command, CD Player, MP3 player, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity with six audio speakers.
The instrument cluster is typical Suzuki, which provides regular clear cut information, while the steering wheel gets audio and Bluetooth streaming controls. But the stand out feature is the paddle shifters, which are placed along the steering wheel to aid the drivers during bouts of track driving and spirited cornering. There is no concrete information regarding the engine on the Swift Sport, but it is expected to be a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine churning out 140hp. The earlier model in the international market was powered by a bespoke 1.6-litre petrol motor capable of producing around 134hp. If launched in India, the Suzuki Swift Sport is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine, which churns out 100bhp. This engine is found under the hood of the Baleno. Its rivals will be the Polo GT TSI, and the Fiat Punto Abarth.
