Swiss-watchmaker Swatch has announced its first smartwatch, the Touch Zero One. We were certainly expecting a new lineup of smartwatch from Swatch but the mention of beach volleyball boggles us. Swatch was earlier rumored to be working with Apple for a smartwatch but the rumor was squashed when Swatch acknowledged it was working alone on a smartwatch.ABlogtowatch has reported that as of now the details in the press release are scanty but the pictures accompanied with the documents will divulge some additional information about its construction. The Touch Zero One has improvised on the touchscreen, features a built in backlight triggered by a tap or a side-swipe. It also boasts some features unique to the sport of beach volleyball like power hits and power claps. Also Read - Swiggy drones promise faster food delivery at doorstep, be prepared to catch

The smartwatch looks apart thanks to the thick matt finished bezels and the dual tone color scheme the watch employs. The best part however is the fact that the Swatch Touch Zero One will return a battery back up of months (as claimed by the manufacturers) and need not be charged every night unlike its Android Wear counterparts. The Touch Zero One will not come with a LCD screen, again owing to the fact that it will reduce the battery backup drastically. Last year Apple had been in midst of a trademark issue with Swatch as the latter claimed that “its much too close to Swatch’s own, already registered, iSwatch trademark.” Swatch says that it will be programming the watches for different sports and will be releasing several variants.
As of now there is no clarity on notifications like-emails, alarms and calls which points out to the fact that the Touch Zero One might just stick to being a fitness and activity tracker watch. The Touch Zero One will be priced around $159.
