Swipe has launched a new smartphone called the Elite Star, which is powered by Indus OS. The Swipe Elite Star smartphone is priced at Rs 3,333 and will be exclusively available on e-commerce site Flipkart. As expected, the Swipe Elite Star comes with support for 12 regional Indian languages which is in totality a database of more than 200,000 words. The support for 12 regional Indian languages comes with two key features called Transliterate and Translate. Users can swipe left to transliterate which would enable the usage of the closest corresponding letters of a different alphabet or language and can swipe right to translate the different languages. Since the Swipe Elite Star is powered by Indus OS offers, the smartphone comes with a text-to-speech facility. Indus OS also provides Word and Matra prediction for faster and easier typing. To make things easier, Indus OS also allows its users to use a hybrid keyboard where they can type in the different regional languages using the English keyboard itself.
The Swipe Elite Star comes with 4G VoLTE support, and is compatible with Reliance Jio SIM and its newly revamped Happy New Year Offer . Under this offer, Reliance Jio users will get access to unlimited free voice and video calls across India, unlimited free local and national SMS messages. They will also get access to Jio s full suite of apps which includes JioPlay, JioOnDemand, JioBeats, JioXpressNews, JioSecurity, JioDrive, JioMags and JioMoney among others. Reliance Jio s 4G data services will be accessible as well but with usage limit of 1GB per day from the previous 4GB per day. If a user crosses the 1GB per day limit, their data speeds will be reduced to 128Kbps for the rest of the day, and normal speeds will resume after 12:00AM. Swipe Elite Star smartphone features a 4-inch WVGA display. Under the hood of the smartphone runs a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with onboard storage of 8GB which is further expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. In the photography department, the Swipe Elite Star smartphone sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. For power, the smartphone uses a 2,000mAh battery.
On the software front, the Swipe Elite Star runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Indus OS. Swipe s Elite Star will stand in competition against the Reliance Digital LYF Flame 5. The smartphone features a 4-inch WVGA display with Asahi Glass protection. Under its hood, runs a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with 512MB of RAM.The smartphone comes with onboard storage of 4GB which is further expandable up to 32GB.
