If you use YouTube, then there is a good chance that you have come across the name Pewdiepie. The channel run by Felix Kjellberg currently has 65 million subscribers, making it the biggest YouTube channel in the world. It is a mantle Pewdiepie has held for the last five years. But now his throne seems to be under imminent threat, and it is coming from none other than India s T-Series channel. Also Read - YouTube blocks iOS 14 picture-in-picture, except on premium accounts

Yes, T-Series, an Indian music production company popularly known to post Bollywood music videos featuring Indian artists is estimated to take the top spot on YouTube as the most subscribed channel, in the next few months. At the moment, the music company has roughly about 59.7 million subscribers with a total of 46 billion views, which is the highest among YouTube channels. While it is still trailing by 6 million subscribers behind Pewdiepie, a report presented by Social Blade states that T-Series is growing its channel subscription by 1,41,000 users on a daily basis, compared to Pewdiepie s 30,000. These growing numbers suggest that the music company could become the most subscribed channel on YouTube in the next few months or early next year.

In the fight to be the most popular YouTube channel, T-Series does of course have a few advantages. One of the biggest is being an actual music production company and not just a single person ranting about the latest memes and games on its channel, which Pewdiepie does. However, its main advantage comes from the being one of the only channels to post high-quality Bollywood videos that cater not only to the 1.3 billion people living in India, but also to Indians living across the globe. All of its music videos can be watched for free on its channel, thereby increasing its appeal.

That said, the YouTube mogul doesn t plan on going down without a fight. In a recent video put up on his channel, Pewdiepie asked his 9-year old army to fight back. He even funnily called out T-Series for an all-out battle to the death. The YouTuber also talked about getting a more Indian-based audience, while also demanding 9-year-olds around the world to subscribe to his channel, in order to keep his channel at number one for as long as possible. However, it looks like it is just a matter of time before T-Series takes the lead.
