Tata Sky is set to launch its own library of content called Binge service, which would join the growing list of content aggregators in the country. The service, according to TelecomTalk, will bring a vast library of content from different distributors and content providers onto a unified platform for consumption. The app will serve as a window for over-the-top video platforms to showcase their content. The new Tata Sky Binge app will work on a subscription-based model, and will be available for Rs 249 per month. The platform will offer streaming content from various partners including Hotstar, Hungama Play, Sun Nxt. This new service from Tata Sky is being extended to its existing customers having an active subscription with the DTH provider. The charges of the service will be debited directly from the Tata Sky account of the subscriber.
In addition to this new OTT plan, Tata Sky has also tied up with Amazon to offer its services via the Fire TV streaming stick. One device is being allotted to a single subscriber ID and since the device belongs to the company, it is being offered to customers on the basis of trust. Those who have received Fire TV Stick from Tata Sky will have to return it at the termination of their subscription. This offer also comes with a commitment of one year with the device.
In order to experience Amazon’s content via Fire TV, Tata Sky users must have an Amazon account. In case subscribers don’t have one, they will be made to create one and it will serve as default Amazon services account. Tata Sky offers 400+ Live TV channels in addition to TV shows and movies available on demand from across 3,500+ titles.

Tata Sky has also extended its Diwali festive offers for customers and is now offering discount of up to 44 percent on select plans. It claims customers will be able to save upwards of Rs 2,000 in subscription costs. A semi-annual pack priced at Rs 5,350 is now being offered at an effective price of Rs 2,999.
