Chinese smartphone maker Tecno Mobile has launched the Camon i2X smartphone in India. The dual-SIM smartphone comes with a ‘notch’ display, dual rear camera setup and glass design as highlights. It is priced Rs 12,499 and will be in three color options of Aqua Blue, Midnight Black, and Champagne Gold. Tecno will provide one-time screen replacement with the smartphone as well.
Transsion Holdings, the group behind brands like Tecno, Infinix and iTel, recently emerged as the fifth largest mobile handset player in the country. According to Counterpoint Research, Transsion India accounted for an overall four percent market share in the first quarter of 2018. Tecno brand registered a quarter-on-quarter growth of 23 percent in Q1, 2018.
Tecno Camon i2X: Specifications and Features
The Tecno Camon i2X comes with a 6.2-inch display with a notch. It boats of HD+ resolution of 720×1500 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The handset is powered by MediaTek s MT6762 octa-core chipset clocked at 2.0GHz. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage, which is further expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot of up to 128GB. For security, the handset features a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.

On the camera front, the Tecno Camon i2X features a dual camera setup including a 13-megapixel f/1.8 main primary sensor combined with 5-megapixel f/2.4 secondary sensor along with quad LED flash. On the front, it packs a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with dedicated flash and f/2.0 aperture lens for selfies and video calling. The camera also highlights features like Bokeh Mode, AI HDR, AI Beauty, Super Pixel Mode, and Panorama.
The Camon i2X is powered by a non-removable 3,750mAh battery, and it runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based HiOS 4.1 out-of-the-box. It comes with dual-SIM support and a dedicated microSD card slot. The phone also supports dual-4G VoLTE.
