Many of us have hard drives full of movies and seasons of different shows. Yes, downloaded content can be easily shared but still hassle of looking for more physical storage is at times big turn off. Like many users I too have started to prefer media streaming apps over traditional downloads. There are several apps for movie and music streaming such as Spuul, Apple Music and Saavn among others. Even though these apps have quite good content for Indian users, you may still have to rely on traditional downloads for streaming content not available on these platforms from torrents. Teewe, which you most probably have heard for their Chromecast rival device Teewe 2, is trying to address this with a new feature called Teewe Theatre. We spent some time with the new service, and here’s everything you need to know. Also Read - E3 2021 Ubisoft Forward: Far Cry 6, Just Dance 2022, Watch Dogs: Legion Bloodline and more

The concept of the Teewe Theatre is very much similar to Popcorn Time, which also allows you to stream content from Torrents. However, unlike Popcorn Time where you can directly search for torrents from within the app, you need to drag and drop the Torrent file (usually in KBs) in the Teewe Theatre app. It will automatically pull the content from torrents and start streaming. Apart from streaming torrents to your television, you can also manage music, images and files on your PC.
What are the hardware and software requirements?
You need the Teewe dongle, a television or any other display on which the dongle can be connected and a fast Internet connection (the company recommends minimum of 4Mbps.) Connect the dongle to your television and go through the steps of connecting it to your Wi-Fi network. Update it to the latest software version. Then download the Teewe Theatre app from the official website — it is available for both Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) as well as Mac OS X.
How to get started?
After installing the Teewe Theatre app, you need to add folders to each categories for images, movies and files, if you want to stream them to your television. For torrents, you need to tap on the magnet icon on the top right part of the screen, which will give you two options – either to add a torrent file manually or to drag and drop the file. This will automatically start playing the media file.
How do I organize my media?
Through Tewee Theatre, you can access all your images and videos spread across different folders on a single platform. All you need to do is add the folders to Teewe Theatre. You can do so by tapping on Folder icon on the top bar. You can also mirror your folder content to your television.
Why use Teewe Theatre?
As mentioned earlier, downloading big files may rapidly fill up physical storage on your device. Teewe Theatre lets you do away from this by simply streaming them. Features such as auto search correct subtitles among others are quite useful. It is easy to set up, and during our usage streaming worked fluidly on the app. We could even scrub a video that was streaming from a torrent by fast forwarding it and that worked pretty well.
Besides streaming torrents, Teewe Theatre lets you do a lot more. It is quite a good media organizer where you can manage music, images and files on your PC. Also, it lets you stream the content from your PC to your television while you can continue working on other apps.
