Telegram, one of the most popular cloud-based messaging and VoIP platforms, has just released two sticker pack apps for its competitor WhatsApp. The two apps come days after WhatsApp officially announced support for Stickers on its platform, a feature that has long been present on Telegram.
This is one of the highlight features that has separated both the messaging platforms from each other. Both the sticker pack apps come with multiple sticker packs that have long been officially available on Telegram. To ensure that all WhatsApp users can add these sticker packs, Telegram has launched the apps both on iOS as well as Android.
Diving deeper in the apps, the first app comes with the name WhatsApp Stickers – Telegram , and package name as org.telegram.wastickers.bestof indicating that these stickers are the best from the lot. The second app comes by the name WhatsApp Stickers – Halloween to address the celebration of Halloween. Looking at the app title and description of the app, it is likely that the company may launch festival-centric sticker pack apps in the future. Both the apps have 10 sticker packs each, and the app screenshots showcase a conversation focusing on the different features that make Telegram better than WhatsApp.

The interesting thing to note here is that Telegram also posted a detailed blog post with the title Telegram Stickers for Everyone indicating that it was cool with its sticker packs being used on other platforms despite the fact that stickers created but its artists were Telegram s intellectual property. The primary reason for launching Stickers on WhatsApp was because both Telegram and WhatsApp use the exact same sticker format .
Telegram did outline certain conditions to be followed in order to allow its sticker packs to be available on other platforms, for free. The company added that interested developers can contact the team to check for the exact details.
