The new Thomson smart TVs will take on other online-first TV makers such as Xiaomi and Vu, which also offer competitively priced smart TVs through an online-first sale model. Thomson does have the strength of its brand, which has been in the TV business for many years. The flagship 43-inch TV runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and comes the APKs of Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Netflix pre-installed. You can additionally download and install other apps as well on the TV. Also Read - iPhone SE 2020 with Rs 10,901 discount during Flipkart Big Saving Days sale: Check the deal
The pricing strategy is aimed squarely at offering an alternative to the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 range, which was launched earlier this year. While initially only the flagship Mi TV 4 was launched in India, the company subsequently brought two more affordable variants of the Mi TV 4A to India. The Thomson range competes directly with Xiaomi on pricing, and is made in India by SPPL.
