Last week it was reported in the Indian media that Apple was looking at launching an Apple Store in India. We refused to go along with the story as our sources indicated otherwise. Apple CEO, Tim Cook, just rubbished the rumors during the company’s quarter earnings call, where he called out India as a small market, which is growing but has a small installed base to warrant retail presence. Currently Apple is focusing on Greater China region and Cook thinks Brazil will be the next key market, without promising an Apple Store launch there either.
