Foodies in our country are spoilt for choice when it comes to guides that help them look for or explore new places to eat or book tables at popular restaurants. Companies like Zomato, Burrp, Bookurtable and Dineout are some that come to your mind. Joining them is TimesCity, which in addition to helping you find the right place to eat, will now let you make reservations at restaurants. TimesCity, Times Internet’s city guide, announced its partnership with Mobikon, a platform that allows users to book reservations directly through its site. As a part of this deal, TimesCity will feature a Mobikon button on its website, which will let users check the availability of tables in real time. They can then book a table right there, without having to go through the hassles of calling up the restaurant. Also Read - Mashable partners with India.com to launch “Mashable India”
“As busy people, we all want the assurance of being welcomed as and when we arrive at restaurants,” TimesCity’s Miten Sampat said. “With this partnership we are empowering our users to have a hassle free dining experience. Discover great restaurants, and be assured of a table well before you arrive.”
This partnership is also seen as a way for TimesCity to grow out from only being a city guide to being a platform where foodies can find everything they want. As mentioned above, it will face some competition from the likes of GourmetItUp.com, Bookurtable, Dineout and TableGrabber among others that offer such restaurant reservation facilities.
