The launch prices of Galaxy S6 variants are at Rs 49,900 for 32 GB, Rs 55,900 for 64 GB and Rs 61,900 for 128 GB. The 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants of Galaxy S6 Edge have been priced at Rs 58,900, Rs 64,900 and Rs 70,900 respectively.
The Galaxy S6 flaunts a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display with a pixel density of 577ppi. Instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset, Samsung has opted for its own Exynos 7420 octa-core (2.1GHz quad-core+1.5GHz quad-core) chipset paired with 3GB of RAM.
On the photography front, it features a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, supplemented with a 5-megapixel camera at the front. It has a non-removable 2,550mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving Mode and wireless charging capabilities. There is also support for fast-charging, which should charge the battery from zero to 50 percent in less than 30 minutes. Connectivity options include LTE support, NFC, IR Blaster, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box, wrapped under an overhauled TouchWiz UI.
The Galaxy S6 Edge’s USP is its dual-curved display. As for specifications, they are nearly identical to the Galaxy S6, albeit with small changes. While the size and resolution of the display remain the same, there is the display curves on both sides. The only other difference is a minutely bigger battery at 2,600mAh.
