Phone directory application Truecaller has announced that it crossed 100 million users worldwide today. In celebration of this feat, Truecaller has rolled out an update with a redesigned interface, elevated phonebook features and predictive technology for a comprehensive and receptive Yellow-Pages like experience. The biggest change with the update is the new intelligent phonebook. It lets you now search beyond your existing contact list, identify unknown incoming calls, block calls you don’t want to receive, and make predictive personal contact suggestions based on time and place. Predictive contact suggestions means, if you call your mom every day before leaving work, Truecaller will intelligently learn your behavior, and auto-remind you to call her at that time every day.
The more you use it, the smarter it gets, and the app will eventually be able to help do the work of knowing who to call so you no longer have to scroll through unnecessary tabs, the company explained.
Truecaller phonebook is also now integrated with your phone contacts, social media profiles, messaging app to get all information about one person in one place. As mentioned above, you can now search within your contacts as well as names and numbers beyond your existing phone book with the update. The company claims that it holds contact information of almost 1.5 billion people.
And of course, the interface has changed with navigation and calling made simpler. It now lets you call or text contacts with a single swipe. The update is currently only rolled out for Android devices. The company assures that iOS and Windows Phone users will get the update soon.
Apart from surpassing 100 million users, the company also says that it has doubled its daily new users in less than 3 months and also receives more than 1.5 billion search requests per month. Truecaller has also launched a new app called Truedialer which offers users details of a person before the outgoing call is connected.
