Truecaller for iOS has been updated with new features along with a completely redesigned look. The highlight of this update is the new search widget. The new search widget essentially lets users identify unknown or missed calls by simply swiping down in the widget directly on your homescreen. Users can also copy a phone number from their call history log, and see whose number it is by dragging down too. This is possible since Apple introduced support for widgets with iOS 8 last year, allowing third-party apps to place alerts and messages in the notification center. We want to streamline and personalize the experience for our users as much as possible and a smarter design was essential to improving the experience, Alan Mamedi, co-founder and CEO of Truecaller said. This is the next big step we re taking to increase the utility of our app, while helping the iOS community save time with tools they need to identify unknown numbers.
In addition to the widget, iOS app now also gets the ability to keep one s phonebook updated by tapping data and photos from one s social media profiles. This is the feature Truecaller introduced on Android back in December.
