Number tagging works with Truecaller, as well as the Truedialler app. It lets users tag a contact by adding more information to a particular contact. When tagging a contact, users will be able to add information like transport, drinks and nightlife or banking / finance, thus making it easier to identify a bank or cab driver. The new feature is now being rolled out to Android users via an updated app. Also Read - Truecaller Verified Businesses feature launched to improve call pickup rate
Commenting on the new milestone, Alan Mamedi, CEO and Co-Founder of Truecaller said, Over time, we envision using this information to improve our users ability to identify who is contacting them, why they are contacting them, what they are contacting them about, and be able to make an informed decision as to whether to take the call, or not.
With the latest feature, the company aims to enhance their technology by smartly using data. The new feature will also allow to better curate information in the database. The company also mentioned that it now gets over 3 billion searches every month, which is 50 percent growth compared to last quarter.
To achieve its target, the company recently even roped in Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for an ad campaign. Truecaller has also inked deals with companies like Cyanogen to include default dialer app in Cyanogen OS 12 and also with smartphone brands to preload the app.
