Such a feature is something that the telecom service providers have been aiming to aid their last mile call completion challenges for quite some time caused either by less than ideal network connectivity or call congestion / congested network, says the company in a release. In order to use Truecaller s new feature work, users need to ensure they have the latest version of the app. After having updated the app, you also need to activate the last seen feature integrated within the application. In the first case, when a call is either disconnection, rejection or the call fails, the dialer gets a pop-up notification on top of their smartphone screen with options to either to ask to call back or make the call back again. While the second option isself explanatory, if the dialer chooses to ask to call back , the receiver gets a push notification informing about missing the call. The notification appears within Truecaller app as well. ALSO READ: Truecaller eyes 200 million users in India by 2016, not bothered by Android N s native call block feature
The second scenario is when the dialer calls a Truecaller user from the app, and the receiver is busy on another call. In this case, the dialer gets the same ask to call back and call anyway options. The receiver gets the same push notifications if the dialer chooses the ask to call back option.
The latest feature is in addition to Truecaller s existing features for the same purpose. Currently, if a user rejects or doesn t take a call, they get a notification from the application as a reminder to call back on the number. With the latest CMB feature, Truecaller aims to become smarter and more interactive. If you are a non-Truecaller user, you may have to rely on your telecom operator s SMS-based alert service about missing calls. About four years ago, Airtel had launched a Call me Back service for its prepaid users. The service allowed one to make request to their family and friends to call them back if their account balance was below Re 1.
