The two-step verification is similar to the desktop version, but doesn’t require SMS-based authentication anymore and uses push notifications instead. So when you login for the first time after enabling the verification system, the app will send a notification asking you to approve the login attempt. The app will also provide you with a backup code, so in case you lose your phone, you can use that code to login from the web browser. To enable this security system, go to the ‘Me’ tab, open settings and then tap Security, where you will find the option. Twitter has also improved the search on the apps and has made it more contextually aware. So when you search for a person, the app offers more info on the person along with top tweets. The photos on search too have been improved, and now shows a mosaic layout, which means you can access more photos at once.
Twitter has also added the ability to manage ‘lists’ within the app, which lets users, add, edit and organize lists and subscriptions.
