Twitter has launched an updated version of its Windows Phone app, which comes with a set of new features including lock-screen integration, a new dark theme as well as notifications for favorite accounts among others. This move will help the company in bringing the Windows Phone app interface closer to the apps for iOS and Android platforms. Twitter users can now check tweets displayed on the lock screen which will come with tweeted content as well as other information like the username, picture and date. The app also allows users to customize the app backdrop with even a dark or light theme. There are a few more feature additions like support to pin keyword searches to the home screen, option to select favorite twitter accounts and get notifications for their tweets, improved search and discover functions, and support for 13 more languages.
The updated app is available in the Windows Phone store and will work with Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 8 versions of the OS.
