The changes were made on Wednesday evening in order to address increasing complaints of online harassment and abuse. The new guidelines would prevent posting of explicit photos taken without the subject’s consent, reported The Verge. Under the “threats and abuse” section, Twitter added, “users may not post intimate photos or videos that were taken or distributed without the subject’s consent.” Any violation of the policy will result in a user’s account being blocked. The move comes two weeks after Reddit cracked down on revenge porn.
