Uber is expanding its coverage in New Delhi and will soon be covering areas across the river into East Delhi. Since its launch in Delhi, Uber has been available in central and southern parts of the city as well as most of Gurgaon. The company says it has just started the service in East Delhi but is ensuring it has enough cars available before announcing it formally. However, you can try your luck and might just find a car in the vicinity. Last week it launched UberX, the budget version of the premium service in New Delhi.
In Mumbai, Uber is offering 40 percent off all rides between 12 noon and 4PM this week. The offer lasts till Friday, July 4. Users will have to type the code BIZWEEKMUM in the promotions tab of their account to avail the discount.
Uber is currently present in six Indian cities – Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune. Judging by the job listings, Uber is looking at launching services in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kolkata and Surat in the near future.
