Uber is rolling out goodies out of its bag again. This time, the company is cashing in on the IPL fever and has partnered with Royal Challengers Bangalore to give all its customers in the city a chance to meet the players in person. All RCB fans need to do is download the Uber app and register beforehand. At 12.00PM, the user should be able to see an RCBUber tab at the bottom. Once you slide over to that tab, and request for an RCBUber, the company will call you and ask for your pick up location. The lucky customer will then be escorted to Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore where they will be able to see the players practice in a private tent on the field next to the pitch. The players will also meet the customers for a few minutes, and even give them a personalized autographed bat. The company informs that a photo ID of the person will be a mandate for security reasons. It also asserts that additional cameras will not be allowed, and only phone cameras can be used for photography. The offer is only valid today and will automatically switch of once the ceiling limit is reached. The company anticipates a huge crowd, hence it encourages users to keep trying if they aren’t successful the first time.
Uber is known for its creative marketing antics and has done many such initiatives in the past to keep its customers interest piqued.
