Uber makes it easier to check your ratings; here’s how it works

With this new rating system, Uber is encouraging that passengers too be on their best behavior during commute.

Uber app comes with a new rating interface to let riders see their rating easily. While driver s ratings are easily visible to passengers at the time of making a booking, it is not easy to see how you have been rated by a driver. Until now that is. In an attempt to make rides more transparent for drivers and passengers, the app will display passenger ratings right on the top, under their profile. In order to see your rating, you can simply open Menu and you can see your rating right below your name, next to the Profile icon. The rating numbers for passengers are the same — out of five stars. The rating number is accompanied by a star. Also Read - Google Search to provide free practice sets on Maths, Physics, Chemistry for Indian students

The initiative was undertaken after pressure from drivers to make the rating system more transparent. When a user tries to book a cab, the drivers can see a passenger s rating and depending on the rating, can either accept or reject the ride. Things like eating in cars, slamming doors, or making route changes can earn passengers a negative rating. Drivers do their best to make Uber enjoyable and safe for their riders, and we expect that riders do the same for drivers. But many riders forget that their driver is also rating them, too, and things like eating in the car, slamming the door, or trying to pile in more people than seat belts can impact whether it s a 5-star experience for drivers, the Uber blog reads.

Another big change Uber is bringing about is rating drivers on UberPool rides. Often, drivers are given negative ratings by a particular rider for no fault of their own. Annoying co-passengers lead to low ratings for UberPool rides. To prevent this, Uber will present multiple options to users to ask them of the reason for low rating. Apart from the regular reasons, passengers will now be presented with options like, too many pick-ups , and co-rider behavior to name a few. Selecting such reasons won t affect driver s rating.

Uber is growing rapidly in India and despite tensions and a stiff opposition from local taxi and auto unions, the service is appreciated by users. Recently, a petition requesting the Goan government to allow the entry of Uber into the top tourism state went viral. Uber is now planning on launching UberEats, the food delivery app in India in the second half of 2017.
