Uber is piloting a new bike taxi service in Bangalore, called UberMOTO. It is an on-demand motorcycle service that will allow users to conveniently book a rise with a press of a button. Along with Uber, its rival Ola has also announced a pilot initiative of Bike Taxis service in Bangalore. The UberMOTO option will be available via Uber s existing smartphone app, just like other services such as uberGO, uberX and the uberBLACK. The minimum fare for UberMOTO service will be Rs 15 followed by Rs 3 per km thereafter and Rs 1 per minute on trip time. To celebrate the launch of UberMOTO service, Uber is also giving away free rides up to Rs 100 for first-time users. For this users will have to use uberMOTOBLR as a promo code while booking.
Ola, on the other hand, will charge a minimum fare of Rs 30 followed by Rs 2 per km and Rs 1 per minute of trip time. On booking a ride, the Ola app will provide driver details, live tracking, SOS and ease of payment option using Ola Money.
