The weekend is almost here and for those looking at heading out in the sweltering heat; Uber has made things a tad more comfortable. Uber’s ‘Half-Off’ fares are applicable on the UberGO, UberX, and the UberBlack in Delhi, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Hyderabad. In Delhi and Bangalore, the current fares of Rs 7/km, Rs 8/km and Rs 13/km respectively have been halved. So a ride from Hauz Khas to Cyber Hub, which normally costs between Rs 171 and Rs 220, is likely to cost somewhere between Rs 85.5 and Rs 110. Users will need to use a promocode depending upon their city. So for Delhi the code is “HALFOFFDEL,” for Bangalore “HALFOFFBLR,” for Hyderabad “HALFOFFHYD” and so on. While these fares are applicable on any rides in the respective cities, there is a small catch. The half-off fares are only applicable on two rides on each of the aforementioned dates booked between 11:00AM and 5:00PM. In comparison, an Ola cab fare in Delhi is Rs 150 for the first 6km, and Rs 16/km for a sedan, and Rs 100 for the first 4km, and Rs 10/km for a hatchback.
