Chinese smartphone manufacture Ulefone recently unveiled the world’s first rugged smartphone that comes with a notch display. The smartphone is called Ulefone Armor 5 and it is expected to go on a presale on August 6 for an approximate price of $200 (roughly Rs 13,700).
The Armor 5 distinguishes itself from its competition by featuring a strong build that comes with heavy padding all around. It features a surface made of acrylic, which the company claims is resistant to scratches or any kind of abrasion. Further, the smartphone also features an ingress rating of IP68, making it water-resistant up to 1.5-meter under water. The screen at the front also gets the added protection of Gorilla Glass 4 coating. This rugged design can survive extreme outdoor environments and will be available in two color options of black and blue.
Wrapped under the rugged design is a 5.85-inch full HD+ screen, which features a resolution of 720 x 1512 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.9:9. With its notch display, the smartphone carries an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent. It is further powered by a MediaTek MT6763 Octa-core SoC, running alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

In the camera department, it is equipped with a dual-camera setup at the back which consists of a 16-megapixel primary sensor supported by a 5-megapixel sensor. There is also a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Underneath the hood, the smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery which supports Qi wireless charging. The device is said to be running on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.
