Along with revealing the specifications for the Google Glass Explorer edition, Google also released a companion app called MyGlass that is needed to configure and manage the device. To see what features one could expect in future, the folks at AndroidPolice tore down the MyGlass APK, but instead stumbled upon something that is not related to Google Glasses at all. The teardown revealed details of Google s previously unheard of Games Service. Also Read - How to create your own Memoji on iPhone for fun conversations
The Google Games Service, according to the report, is something Google is reportedly planning to release on its Android platform and is quite similar to Apple s Game Center and Xbox Live, with support for real-time and turn-based multiplayer gaming. The APK revealed file names that point at features on offer which include the likes of in-game chatting, achievements, leader boards and invitations. It also seems to support a notifications service that will ping you as soon as your opponent takes his or her turn.
Google seems to have accidently added these files to the MyGlass APK, since Google Glass only supports camera and map-like apps at the moment. But seeing the files all lined up in the APK, it seems the service is almost ready for launch and is likely to be unveiled at the upcoming Google I/O in May.
