Earlier this week, Vertu sent out press invites for a luxury smartphone launch in China and is about to return back to the luxury smartphone market after years. Today, the company has launched a new smartphone, called Aster P. Despite all the setbacks years ago, it has managed to launch the device looking similar to its earlier smartphones, this appealing to its design, materials, housing, and pricing range.

The new Vertu Aster P is – like any Vertu – is built on-to the work of the finest British craftsmanship, each unit crafted by a specific craftsman who signs the device that came out of his expertise. The Vertu Aster P starts from $5000 (approximately Rs 3,80,000) and this price is only for the hardback version because the Gold version already goes for the $14,000 (approximately Rs 10,30,000) for having a smartphone with a genuine titanium jewelry with gold accents and crocodile skin lining, while the screen is lined with 133 carat Sapphire glass.

In terms of specs, the Vertu Aster P has a 5-inch AMOLED display on a Full HD resolution, Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of flash memory, 3200 mAh Battery capacity, a front-facing 20-megapixel selfie-camera, and a single 12-megapixel main-rear Camera. There is a USB-C port, with NFC support and fast charging 3.0 ready. The smartphone Dimensions are at 149.8 x 71 x 10.1 mm on a weight of 220 g. With Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed.

The device also has a special “Ruby” button, which will allow users to access 24/7 high-level support from Vertu Professional team. Vertu Aster P owners will get access to exclusive invite-only special events. The Vertu Aster P is available in Black, White and Yellow color, and later it would also have a special Baroque version with blue, orange and brown colors. Vertu will also let you customize the design of the Aster P by adding gems and choosing the style you like (though, adding up extra costs based on what you choose and add up).

The device will be up for sale later this month on, October 30. Interestingly, the model is not yet available on the Vertu website, but it already exists in the JD.com store. Apparently, this can be regarded as selling primarily on the Chinese market for now, though this could change and launch to other countries as well.
