When the Bendgate scandal surfaced, Apple replied that they had only received nine reports on this issue even as Facebook and Twitter were flooded with pictures of bent iPhone 6 Plus handsets. One of the Nine even has a website that has a compilation of over 300 photos of bent iPhone 6 Plus handsets from various sources. They are asking users to share their stories on the website by posting a photo of their bent iPhones. The website has also made a three minute video to show Apple that this is a real issue and really, much more than nine phones were bent.
Apple has attracted quite a bit of controversy this year with Bendgate. Individual users and rival companies took jabs at the company for their bending phones, and related jokes still tend to surface once a while these days. Apple was also briefly embroiled in another controversy called Hairgate, where iPhone 6 customers were complaining on social media that their new phones kept ripping out chunks of their hair when they held the phone up to their ear to take a call.
