Vivo India is all set to launch its next flagship, the Vivo NEX S in the Indian market on July 19 but it looks like the global branch of the company is already looking beyond the NEX. According to a report by MySmartPrice, it was revealed that the company is planning to launch its much-rumored X-series lineup in August. The report pointed out that a number of noted leakers on the Chinese micro-blogging website Weibo are teasing at a new, upcoming smartphone that will launch later this year. The highlight of the smartphone will be that is will be the first smartphone with 10GB RAM along with 512GB internal storage.
Leakers pointed out that the device may be dubbed as the XPlay 7. This is not the first time that we have heard about the smartphone as the device model frequented the rumor land during the second half of the year with reports pointing that Vivo could pack an in-display fingerprint sensor along with a triple camera setup. The ideas were revolutionary at that time but the competition has caught up on those technological advancements. However, RAM is one area where Vivo can beat others after being the first one in showcasing in-display fingerprint scanner along with the motorized front facing with a pop-up camera.

The report also pointed out that it is likely that Vivo will opt for Snapdragon 660 SoC. Leakers hinted at the fact that Vivo will not be the only smartphone to launch a smartphone with 10GB RAM as Oppo is also planning to launch a device with 10GB RAM after just launching its latest flagship smartphone in the market, the Oppo Find X.
One thing to note here is that we are not sure if 10GB RAM will help users in any meaningful way on a smartphone. Vivo has not issued any official statement at the time of writing.
