Vivo seems to be gearing up for another high-end smartphone with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 SoC and third gen integrated AI Engine. Currently, Vivo has only one smartphone with Snapdragon 845 chipset – the Vivo NEX S.
The alleged new Vivo smartphone has surfaced online on Geekbench benchmark listing titled “vivo vivo 1805”. The benchmark results reveal it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset along with 8GB of RAM. It is listed to run Android 8.1 Oreo.
The Geekbench listing reveals that the Vivo 1805 scored 2445 points in the single-core test, and 9121 in the multi-core test. Other than that, the listing doesn’t reveal much. However, we assume that the Vivo 1805 might just follow the series of bezel-less Vivo Nex S, but probably without a pop-up camera.
To remind you, Vivo launched the NEX and NEX S smartphones in China with truly-bezel less display, earlier this month, unlike most Android counterparts with infamous notch. Vivo managed this by including a motorized pop-up camera, thus the front is completely bezel-less.
The company has confirmed that it will be launching the NEX S in India on July 19. Meanwhile, Oppo is also set to launch the Find X smartphone with motorized pop-up cameras on July 12. As of now, there is no word on the pricing, but considering the China pricing, the Vivo NEX S should be around Rs 40,000.
Vivo also has NEX A, which is slightly toned-down version of the NEX S, but that isn’t launching in India. The NEX S being the higher variant comes with Snapdragon 845 SoC and 8GB of RAM, while the NEX A comes with the new Snapdragon 710 SoC with 6GB of RAM.
Both the devices, NEX S and NEX A, come with 128GB of storage, but the NEX S is also expected to come in a 256GB storage variant. Another major difference is that the NEX S will be featuring an in-display fingerprint sensor, just like the Vivo X21. The NEX A, on the other hand, sports a conventional fingerprint sensor placed at the back.
