Chinese smartphone makers have been at the forefront when it comes to bringing innovative technology to the masses. They are the first to bring an edge-to-edge display, first to bring in-display fingerprint scanner, a full screen display with a pop-up selfie camera, and more. On flagship smartphones, these features come at a price, but Vivo is trying to bring premium experiences to mid-range. The V11 Pro also comes with a glass back with gradient finish, a full screen Super AMOLED display with a tiny waterdrop notch. In its price point, the V11 Pro will go heads on with the likes of Oppo F9 Pro, Nokia 7 Plus and Xiaomi s new flagship smartphone, the Poco F1. Price in India and availability
The Vivo V11 Pro packs premium features, but price wise, it is placed in a mid-range segment, and will set you back by Rs 25,990. The smartphone will be sold exclusively via Amazon India, with sale starting from September 12. The Oppo F9 Pro is priced at Rs 23,990, whereas the Poco F1 is priced at Rs 20,990 for 64GB storage variant, Rs 23,999 for 128GB storage model, and Rs 28,999 for 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model. Both smartphones are available to purchase from Flipkart. Lastly, the Nokia 7 Plus is priced at Rs 25,999, and it is available to purchase via Amazon India.
Specifications and software
All four smartphones come with full screen displays, and while the Nokia 7 Plus comes with an 18:9 display without a notch, whereas others feature a notch on top. The Vivo V11 Pro and Oppo F9 Pro, both feature a tiny waterdrop notch that houses the front camera, whereas the Poco F1 comes with a thick iPhone X-like notch which houses the front camera, infrared sensor and other components for face unlock.
The Vivo V11 Pro comes with a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED display, whereas the Oppo F9 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch LCD display, both featuring full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The Nokia 7 Plus, on the other hand, comes with a 6-inch full HD+ IPS LCD screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. The Poco F1 comes with a 6.18-inch full-HD+ display with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio.
At the heart of the Vivo V11 Pro and Nokia 7 Plus runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with 64GB onboard storage, and a microSD card slot. The V11 Pro comes with 6GB of RAM, whereas the Nokia 7 Plus comes with 4GB of RAM. The Oppo F9 Pro, on the other hand, is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC with an octa-core CPU, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
Now, that brings up to the Poco F1 from Xiaomi. As mentioned above, it is the company s flagship smartphone, and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, with three storage options 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and the top end model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
In the software department, all four smartphones run on Android 8.1 Oreo OS. However, the Nokia phone runs on Android One program, the Oppo phone runs on ColorOS skin, Vivo phone runs on FuntouchOS skin, whereas the Xiaomi comes with MIUI skin.
In the photography department, all four smartphones come with AI dual cameras at the back. Vivo has equipped a combination of 12-megapixel primary sensor with 5-megapixel depth sensor, whereas Oppo has added a 16-megapixel primacy camera with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The Nokia 7 Plus comes with a 12-megapixel primary sensor along with a 13-megapixel sensor and telephoto lens that enables 2X optical zoom. Lastly, the Poco F1 comes with a combination of 12-megapixel sensor with a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
Up front, both Oppo and Vivo smartphones come with a 25-megapixel front camera, the Poco F1 comes with a 20-megapixel sensor, whereas the Nokia 7 Plus comes with a 16-megapixel sensor. The front cameras support AI portrait mode, as well face unlock feature.
Battery and connectivity
Connectivity options all the smartphones include dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. To keep things ticking, the Oppo F9 Pro comes with a 3,500mAh battery, the Vivo V11 Pro comes with a 3,400mAh battery, the Nokia 7 Plus comes with a 3,800mAh battery, whereas the Poco F1 comes with the largest battery of 4,000mAh capacity.
