Vivo V9 launched in India
Vivo V9 is now official in India. The Chinese smartphone maker launched the device in Thailand yesterday and the smartphone comes in additional colors in our country. The Vivo V9 is available in blue in addition to gold and black colors. The smartphone is priced at Rs 22,900 and will be available for purchase starting April 2.
In terms of specifications, the Vivo V9 features a 6.3-inch display with a notch similar to iPhone X. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It features 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual rear cameras at the back and a 24-megapixel selfie camera.
JioMusic integrates with Saavn
Reliance Jio has announced that it will integrate its JioMusic service with Saavn, a major player in music streaming industry. The combined entity are said to be valued at over $1 billion and Reliance Industries plans to invest additional $100 million for the growth of the combined entity.
The move can be seen as a way to counter the popularity of Amazon Music and Apple Music in India. The deal becomes interesting considering the launch of global giant Spotify.
Google Pixel 2 XL gets a new deal
Google Pixel 2 XL is now available at Rs 52,999 for the 64GB model and Rs 61,999 for the 128GB model. The smartphone is getting a discount of Rs 10,000 if you use a Citi Credit or Debit card. On Pixel 2, customers will get a cashback of up to Rs 8,000.
The cashback offer is live until March 31, 2018 and the offer is applicable on select retail stores as well as Flipkart. There is up to Rs 16,000 exchange discount on eligible devices on Flipkart.
Idea takes on Reliance Jio
Idea Cellular has launched a new prepaid plan priced at Rs 998 to take on Reliance Jio. The new plan offer 5GB 4G data per day along with free unlimited local and national calls and 100 free SMS per day. The offer is only applicable in Odisha circle for now.
The new plan from Idea Cellular comes at a time when the telco is testing 4G VoLTE in across different circles. The pack is available in addition to company’s Magic offer that entitles its users to Rs 3,300 cashback on recharges from the website or app.
Galaxy Note 9 might have in-display FPS
The Galaxy Note 9 might well be the first Samsung smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is expected to launch sometime in August and Samsung Display is said to be testing three or four solutions integration a fingerprint sensor within its Super AMOLED display.
It is not confirmed that the feature will make it to final device but Samsung seems prepared to implement the technology as early as this year. The Galaxy Note 9 could be an iterative update to last year’s Galaxy Note 8 with in-display fingerprint being a major technological advancement.
LAVA Z50 available in India at Rs 2,400
Lava has announced the availability of its first Android Go smartphone in India. The Lava Z50 is available in India at a MOP of Rs 4,400 but consumers can get the smartphone at an effective price of Rs 2,400 with Airtel’s Mera Pehla Smartphone initiative.
Lava Z50 runs Android Oreo (Go edition), which promises secure and updated Android experience even on a low-end smartphone.
OnePlus 6 specs sheet leaks
OnePlus 6 specifications have leaked suggesting that it will be another performance beast. The smartphone is said to feature a 6.28-inch AMOLED display supporting a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
It is also tipped to run Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS out of the box. There will be dual rear cameras at the back and a single 20-megapixel selfie camera at the front. The smartphone will be backed by a 3,450mAh battery. There are report that OnePlus 6 will hit $749 price tag this year.
