Vivo is yet to launch its flagship smartphone for this year, which is said to be the Xplay 7. However, the company is rumored to be working on two mid-range smartphones – X20 and X20 Plus, which have leaked more than the said flagship smartphone. In the latest development, two new posters of the X20 smartphone have been spotted online hinting at a Samsung Galaxy S8-like display. Spotted on Mydrivers, one thing that the teaser confirms is that Vivo flagship will be called XV20. Further, the images show that the smartphone will come with a full metal body with a Samsung Galaxy S8-like Infinity Display, with ultra-thin upper and lower bezels. If the images are anything to go by, then the Vivo X20 might also feature the familiar aspect ratio of 18:9. The front-facing sensors placement is in line with previous leaks. While the image doesn t reveal the presence of any physical home button, we can expect the Vivo X20 to ship with a fingerprint scanner embedded under the display.
Apart from this, rumors in the past suggested that the Vivo X20 will ship with Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box. The posters also show that the smartphone will be available in black and white color options.
While no hardware specifications of the phone have been detailed in the latest leak, past rumors suggest the Vivo X20 will feature a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display. Under the hood, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor could be paired with 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via microSD card. Vivo is also said to launch a ‘Plus’ variant of the Vivo X20, which could feature a larger 6-inch display. No other information about the X20 Plus has been known so far. However, the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus are rumored to have the same design language with few upgrades to the ‘Plus’ variant. The phones are said to be the successors to Vivo’s X9 and X9s Plus smartphones and are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, though the company is yet to officially confirm anything. Meanwhile, Xplay 7, which is said to be Vivo’s 2017-flagship smartphone is expected to launch before the X20 and X20 Plus smartphones. However, if the presentation slides leaked on Weibo are anything to go by then the X20 and the Xplay 7 monikers belong to the same device.
