After going through a lot of leaks, the Vivo X21i has officially been announced in China. As expected, the phone features similar design and specifications compared to its predecessor, the X21. The only notable difference is that the phone comes with the Helio P60 SoC and not the Snapdragon 660 chipset, which was featured in the earlier model.
The unveiling also confirmed that the phone will be coming with a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen, featuring a notch at the top and an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90.3 percent. It will be sporting a full HD+ (1080 x 2280) resolution, with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Among other things, it is also confirmed that the phone will be featuring an AI powered, 24- megapixel selfie camera.
Vivo X21i specifications and features
Vivo is giving its consumers an option to choose between RAM and storage. The two configurations for the X21i include, 6GB of RAM with 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. There is also support for expandable storage up to 256GB. The phone comes packed with a 3,425mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, layered with the FunTouch OS 4.0. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The phone comes with a 24-megapixel front camera and dual-rear cameras that consist of two 12-megapixel sensors. Both cameras are AI aided and can recognize skin tone, gender and environment to apply a suitable filter and enhance the output. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back, right underneath the camera module. Besides that, the phone also comes with Face Unlock feature.
Both variants of the X21i cost the same at RMB 2,698 (approximately Rs 28,800). The phone is also available in three color variants, Ruby Red, Aurora White and Polar Night Black. It will be available in China starting 19 May. There is no word of an Indian launch yet.
