Vivo X23, the next flagship smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker, will launch on August 20. The Vivo X23 is highly rumored to be the first smartphone with 10GB of RAM in the market.
The information regarding the launch of the smartphone comes from a tech blogger in China. The blogger posted screenshot of a conversation with Vivo’s voice assistant, Jovi on Vivo NEX smartphone. The assistant confirms in the conversation that Vivo X23 will be launched on August 20. The blogger first asked the assistant whether it knows anything about new products from Vivo.
The assistant replied to that question by asking whether the user wants to know about Vivo X23. The tech blogger then asked Jovi about the release date of Vivo X23 and the assistant answered by saying: “8.20 will happen big.” While Vivo has stayed quiet about the release of its X23 flagship smartphone, its digital assistant Jovi seems to have spilled the beans on its launch. The conversation inadvertently confirms two things: 1. Vivo X23 does exist and 2. It will be launched officially on August 20.
Vivo’s last flagship smartphone in the X-series was the Vivo X21 and it seems that the company is skipping the X22 moniker for its next X-series model. It seems certain that the next smartphone in the X-series will be called Vivo X23. The smartphone will challenge the Oppo R17, the flagship from Vivo’s sister brand, that was made official yesterday.
There is not much known in terms of features and specifications expected with the release of Vivo X23 and the company has successfully kept the information under wraps. The smartphone is likely to borrow some design elements from Oppo R17 and might feature a display with waterdrop-style notch.

A tipster has shared an image of Vivo X23, which seems to show two devices stacked on top of each other. GizmoChina reports that the leakster claims Vivo will offer the X23 in two variants powered by Snapdragon 670 and Snapdragon 710. It is also likely to be the first smartphone with 10GB of RAM, which will be a huge shift from 8GB of RAM becoming standard on most smartphones.
The leaks so far claim that 10GB RAM will be implemented through 6GB RAM + 4GB RAM dual channel modules. It is likely to feature in-display fingerprint sensor and 3C certification of two Vivo smartphones with model numbers V1809A and V1809T indicated support for 22.5W fast charging. If the official launch is indeed set for August 20 then expect Vivo to send out official media invites this week.
