The device serves as the successor to the X21 and the X21 UD that are currently in the market. According to the announcement, the device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 along with what is likely the most significant change here, a water droplet shaped notch. Before diving into the specifications of the device, the company has priced the device at RMB 3,498, which amounts to approximately Rs 36,700, and it will be available starting September 14. The primary change when it comes to the design of the new device is the new water droplet -like notch on the display, which is dramatically smaller than the traditional notch. The notch comes with a 12-megapixel camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture for selfies along with an IR scanner that is used for facial recognition. As evident with the X-series device, the latest X23 also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Talking about the main camera, there are no dramatic changes as X23 comes with a dual camera setup on the back of the device. The dual camera setup features a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, and regular lens along with a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.0 aperture, and an ultra-wide lens. The company seems to have added AI-powered software features to the camera including AI Beauty mode, and AI Portrait mode.
The device is powered by a 3,400mAh battery while running Android 8.1 Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.5. The Vivo X23 is available in Phantom Purple, Phantom Red, and Magic Night colors. Vivo is also set to launch new Fashion Purple, and Fashion Orange, special Logo Phone editions of the device soon. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone comes with a 4G VoLTE enabled Dual-Sim slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB ports.
