Only yesterday we came across a Vivo X23 leak, which revealed a few key specifications of the upcoming smartphone. Now, with the device expected to launch on August 20, alleged hand-on photos of the device seemed to have surface online giving us a better idea of its design.
The Vivo X23 photos, spotted by Slashleaks, clearly confirms that the smartphone will come with a waterdrop notch. This design was seen on the recently launched Oppo F9. That means that the smartphone will be featuring a screen-to-body ratio higher than 90 percent. The Vivo X23 has been rumored to come with a 6.4-inch full HD+ display. Besides the notch, the screen can be seen wrapped around by non-existent bezels, and there’s a thin chin at the bottom. Unfortunately, there are not photos of the back panel.
Yesterday’s leak also suggested the Vivo X23 to come powered by a Snapdragon 670 SoC and 8GB of RAM. Being from the same series as the Vivo X21, the smartphone is expected to flaunt an in-display fingerprint sensor as well. However, the technology here seems to have been upgraded.
Besides that, the Vivo X23 is also touted to come with a new independent DAC audio decoding chip and Vivo’s new fast charging technology introduced with the Vivo NEX. It’s said to charge the device completely within an hour.

That said, the more interesting thing mentioned yesterday was that the X23 will be housing Vivo’s new TOF (Time of Flight) 3D face sensing technology in its unique notch at the front. The new technology was introduced at MWC 2018 , and is said to be advanced enough to capture 300,000 facial points for 3D mapping. It can be used for unlocking the phone, taking selfies, making payments, and even improve AR experience through the front camera.
