As far as specifications are concerned, the phone sports a 5.5-inch display with full HD screen resolution, and is powered by a 64 bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor (1.7GHz Cortex-A53 quad core + 1GHz Cortex-A53 quad core) paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The phone comes with a 13-megapixel shooter at the back and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper upfront. The dual-SIM capable X5Max supports 4G LTE connectivity and runs Android 4.4.4 on top. To achieve such thinness, the company has reportedly shifted 90 percent of the internal components to the sides of the screen.
The device damped Oppo s hype of its R5 smartphone, which was the slimmest smartphone, until Vivo announced the X5Max. The R5 is set to launch later this month under the Rs 30,000 bracket.
Vivo has plans to launch as many as five models in India ranging from Rs 7,000 to Rs 40,000. The company also has broader plans for India and intends to establish its manufacturing units in the country over the next three years. It has already partnered with 20 distributors in 20 states.
