Back in April this year, Vivo launched an affordable device in its Y-series, called the Y71i. Now it seems the company has quietly launched a new variant of the same device. Dubbed Y71i, this new smartphone is now available at retail stores across the country.

The Vivo Y71i is said to be priced at Rs 8,990, 91Mobiles reports. In comparison, the Y71 was launched with a price tag of Rs 10,999. While the new smartphone retains the design language, some of its specifications and features have been downgraded.

The Vivo V71i comes with 16GB internal memory, 2GB of RAM, and an 8-megapixel camera sensor at the back. In comparison, the V71 was launched with 3GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, and a 13-megapixel primary camera sensor.
The rest of the specifications and features remain the same. So in essence, the Vivo V71i comes with a 5.99-inch FullView 18:9 aspect ratio display with HD+ (1440×720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core chipset. The device’s internal memory can be expanded using a microSD card.

Besides the 8-megapixel camera sensor at the back, the device also comes with a 5-megapixel selfie camera up front. The smartphone is backed by a 3,360mAh battery, and connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS. On the software front, the V71i runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box, with a layer of Vivo’s custom FunTouch skin on top.
