Vivo has launched the latest Y-Series smartphone – the Vivo Y81 – in India. The smartphone was first launched in Vietnam back in June. It follows a design language similar to the iPhone X, and comes with a full edge-to-edge display with a notch on top, and 19:9 aspect ratio.
At the back, the Vivo Y81 gets Apple iPhone 7-like antenna bands along the top and bottom. Vivo had ditched the fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication in Vietnam launch, but the Indian version of Y81 does get a fingerprint sensor at the back.
Vivo Y81 Price and Availability
The Vivo Y81 had launched in Vietnam for VND 4,990,000, which was roughly Rs 15,000, but Vivo has launched it for Rs 12,999 in India. It is available via Vivo’s online store, Flipkart, Amazon India as well as offline retail stores. The handset comes in two color options of black, and gold.

The Vivo Y81 flaunts a 6.22-inch HD+ display running at a resolution of 720x1520pixels, and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The display is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass protection. At the heart of the smartphone runs a MediaTek MT6762 octa-core SoC clocked at 2GHz and IMG GE8320 graphics. It is paired with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB built in storage, and a microSD card slot (up to 256GB) for further expansion is also available.

As for cameras, the Vivo Y81 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.2, and an LED flash. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. To keep things ticking, the Vivo Y81 comes with a 3,260mAh battery, along with connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11n, and GPS.
