Vivo has launched a variant of Vivo Y81 in India, called the Vivo Y81i. The smartphone was anticipated to launch for quite some time, but Vivo has silently released it in offline market for Rs 8,490, reports 91mobiles.
To note, Vivo Y81i is not a new device, and it has already been on sale in Malaysia. The Vivo Y81i features MediaTek’s Helio A22 SoC similar to Xiaomi’s Redmi 6A and Redmi 6. The smartphone has been launched in one variant carrying 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
Previously, Vivo had launched Y81 with 3GB RAM in August at Rs 12,999. But after a price cut of Rs 1,000, the smartphone currently retails for Rs 11,990 in India.
Vivo Y81i: Specifications and Features
The Vivo Y81i doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor, but includes face unlock using front camera. The Indian version of Vivo Y81 had both features onboard. The Y81i smartphone features a 6.22-inch FullView display with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels and boasts a notch in front. It is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage.

In terms of camera, the Vivo Y81i packs a single 13-megapixel rear camera accompanied by a LED flash. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with support for AI face beauty mode which enhances the skin tone and evens the lighting conditions. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo based on FunTouch 4.0 skin, and is backed by a 3,260mAh battery. The Vivo Y81i is 7.7mm thick and weighs around 143 grams.
