Last month, it was reported that Vivo might soon bring in a budget variant of the Vivo Y81 in India, but it’s been a month and we didn’t see any sign of the smartphone. Now according to a new report, Vivo will launch the Vivo Y81i in Indian market in coming few weeks.
To note, Vivo Y81i is not a new device and it has already been on sale in Malaysia. Vivo only launched 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant at 599 Malaysian Ringgits, which roughly translates to Rs 10,000. As far as Indian market is concerned, we are expecting the phone to be price at little lower than Malaysian market price.
Previously, Vivo had launched Y81 with 3GB RAM in August at Rs 12,999. But after a price cut of Rs 1,000, the smartphone currently retails for Rs 11,990 in India. The Vivo Y81 can be purchased both online and offline.
In September, a Twitter user leaked some specifications of the Vivo Y81i. The leaked poster image carried design of the Vivo Y81i, which looked identical to Y81. Also, most key specifications were similar to Vivo Y81.
According to leak and Vivo Y81i Malaysian variant, the smartphone will feature a 6.22-inch FullView display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and boasts of a notch in front. It will be powered by the MediaTek MT6761 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. There won’t be any other variant of the Vivo Y81i in India.
Vivo ditched the fingerprint sensor on the Y81i, but has kept face unlock. The Indian version of Y81 had both features onboard. In terms of camera, the Vivo Y81i will have a single 13-megapixel rear camera accompanied with a LED flash.
