Vivo has been continuously widening its mobile portfolio in India, having launched a handful of smartphones this year. However, it seems the Chinese technology company isn’t done for 2018, and has (at least) one more smartphone launch left on its agenda.
Citing industry sources, a report by IANS has claimed that Vivo will be launching its Y95 smartphone in India on November 25. The report even provides some information about the yet-to-be-launched smartphone’s price, saying it’ll be priced somewhere around Rs 20,000.
Vivo Y95 isn’t exactly a new smartphone, and was launched in China earlier this month. Consequently, we know everything about it as far as the hardware specifications and features are concerned. The Y95 is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 439 SoC, based on the 12nm fabrication node. The chipset’s octa-core CPU is helped by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 256GB.
Up front, the Y95 has a 6.2-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720×1520 pixels, as well as a ‘waterdrop’ notch. The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, with Vivo’s Funtouch OS UI overlay baked on top.

For imaging, the Vivo Y95 features a dual-lens camera system at the back, comprised of a 13-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. There’s also a 20-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and video calls. The smartphone has all standard connectivity features, ranging from Wi-Fi to 3.5mm audio port, and even features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Backing up the whole package is a 4,030mAh battery, but there’s no fast charging support.
